Wrecking Ball Down in the years and I can’t go back. A weary traveler shouldering his pack. The sun’s gone down and the water’s turned black. The smoke of this fire is burning my eyes. I turned coals and thought through my lies. A long time passing and those short goodbyes. I’m on the hook for too many things. Time to bring out the tissues and strings. Devil phoned and I took the call. My life’s been a wrecking ball. Skies around here full of stars. It’s a good thing there aren’t any bars. Better off alone out on the land, with the cold night to hold my hand. There is a genuine place in the heart. You feel it most when yout years apart My life has been nothing but spit. Everything else has a price on it. I’m on the hook for too many things. Time to bring out the tissues and strings Devil phoned and I took the call My life’s been a wrecking ball.
