I’m a member of the Ashcan School.
My teacher is the cold city street.
The winters here are downright cruel. 
A garbage fire is what I do for heat.

I say to people who are passing by,
“How’s it going and howdy there.”
They don’t care,  but at least I try.
It makes me feel good to share.
