I Was There I was there at the gallows when the blade came down. I was there at the cold fields with bodies all around. i was in the train yards where you shipped us en masse. i saw there in the room when yo turned on the gas. I was there in the board rooms when you made your plans I saw all the uniforms and the papers in your hands. I was their in the soldiers raised their arms that came from cities and the suburbs and farms. You fed us words that set our hearts on fire. You spoke like you understood fear and desire. You praised the gun that I held to my chest. that separated the the north from south, east from west. I was there at the rise of the all those new dawns. when all those rights were all those wrongs. So everyone bow your heads and sing your victory songs. I will be there for the next time of the heartfelt throngs.
